Dedication of Earnest Graham Avenue in Ft. Myers Weekend of Giving Benefited the Earnest Giving Foundation
(Tampa, Fla) -- In celebration of the City of Ft. Myers’ naming of a street in his honor, Tampa Bay Buccaneer Earnest Graham gave back to the local community there via a weekend of fundraising festivities, culminating with a dedication of Earnest Graham Avenue. He was pleased to have the support of some of his celebrity friends celebrate with him at several exciting and unique events held May 15th through 17th, with proceeds benefiting his Earnest Giving charity.
Shoot for the Stars- Friday, May 15th This basketball game was held at the school where Earnest Graham attended junior high, which is now the home of Dunbar High School. Some of Earnest’s fellow Tampa Bay Buccaneers such as Cadillac Williams, Clifton Smith, Josh Johnson, Tanard Jackson and Amarri Jackson plus New York Jet Lito Sheppard and Miami Dolphin Channing Crowder invaded Dunbar High for a basketball game that lit up the stands. Nearly 500 fans cheered them on and enjoyed performances by local high school drumlines and step teams.
Roll with Earnest- Saturday, May 16th Earnest Graham’s annual celebrity bowling tournament was held at Pin Street in Fort Myers. Several of Earnest’s friends such as Miami Dolphin Channing Crowder, Warrick Dunn and Michael Pittman were raffled off as celebrity participants, as approximately 250 spectators watched on. A live auction of celebrity-signed items also helped to raise money for Earnest Giving.
College Clash Bash- Saturday, May 16th After a fun-filled evening of bowling, this event was held at Ichabod’s Wicked Food & Drink and the party-goers came dressed in their favorite college attire, ready to fight for their school. The school that had the most vocal and charitable supporters in attendance had their fight song played at the end of the night (Go Gators!).
Earnest Graham Avenue Dedication- Sunday, May 17th The community came out in droves to commemorate Earnest Graham Avenue with an afternoon of fun and food. Earnest Graham’s mother was presented with the Earnest Graham Avenue street sign by Fort Myers vice mayor Herb Acken and well wishes from the city were presented to Earnest by Fort Myers city councilman Michael Flanders. The dedication of Earnest Graham Avenue was attended by hundreds of Fort Myers residents who support Earnest’s work on and off the field. The Graham family made certain that it was a family event, complete with face painters, balloon artists, jugglers and bounce houses for the kids’ entertainment. |
